Shodo Salon TOYOSU is a gentle escape in Toyosu where you can slow down and enjoy the quiet art of Japanese calligraphy. As you grind ink, steady your brush, and face the paper, the city’s buzz fades into the background. Whether you want to learn the basics or simply try a cultural experience between sightseeing stops, the salon feels welcoming and unrushed. It’s not only about writing beautiful characters—your posture, breathing, and focus naturally settle into place. After class, take a stroll by the canals of Toyosu or grab a coffee nearby. It’s a small reset you can carry with you long after the last stroke.

Calligraphy Experience
Up to 10 participants per group.
The cultural experience lasts 90 minutes.
Learn the history and basics of calligraphy through a video, choose the characters you want to write from a sample book, and practice on calligraphy paper using brush and ink.
Select an item for your final work, create your calligraphy artwork on it, and decorate it with stamps, stencils, paints, and masking tape.
Please note that ink stains on clothing may be difficult to remove.
Children under 6 years old can join for free.
